Michael Hoffman—a shareholder at Werner, Hoffman, Greig & Garcia, VetLaw’s parent firm—is one of the leaders of our VA benefits department. A disabled combat veteran himself, Michael understands the challenges that veterans face in disability claims and appeals, bringing both firsthand experience and dedicated advocacy to his work for veterans. He is committed to standing up for the servicemen and women who’ve served our nation, knowing well the difficulties they encounter when seeking the benefits they deserve.
Michael’s journey began with his service in the F/A 18 Hornet Squadron VFA-192 aboard the USS Kitty Hawk in Japan. He further broadened his expertise in Afghanistan, where he served as the Combat Master Driver for U.S. Forces under the Individual Augmentee Program. This extensive military background gives him unique insight into the struggles and sacrifices that define veterans’ lives, an insight that he draws on every day as he advocates for his clients.
Transitioning from his military service to the legal field, Michael built his legal foundation with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Central Florida. He then earned a J.D. and an LL.M. in trial advocacy and dispute resolution from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago, both with honors. His legal education and accolades, combined with his lived experience, make him a powerful advocate in VA benefits and other government benefit cases.
As a VA-accredited attorney, Michael doesn’t just represent clients—he represents fellow veterans and those who’ve faced physical and emotional trials and now seek the support they’re owed. His commitment extends beyond VA benefits; he also assists individuals who need help with SSI and SSDI, tirelessly working to secure the support his clients need to rebuild and regain stability in their lives. Honored with titles like “Sailor of the Year,” Michael approaches each case with the same dedication and resilience that marked his military career.
For Michael, the work is personal. He sees not just claims and paperwork but real people who have given everything in service to their country and now need someone in their corner. Whether navigating VA claims, SSI, SSDI, or other government benefits, Michael Hoffman’s mission is clear: to ensure that every client receives the justice and dignity they deserve.
